January and February have seen a lot of new projects, new products and updates all around! As of 1st January, I merged Rotten Dollies to 4am Studio. This means that you will see some quirky wee projects and a lot more traditional artwork being completed (including art plush) and made available. I will also be updating my own business description across my platforms that will now state – 4am Studio – Wanaka Based Multidisciplinary Studio or something along those lines, to encompass everything that I now offer.
I also updated my colour scheme of my own branding and logo, to make it a bit more fresh – subtle green was just not cutting it for me; so, have opted for a bright blue. My business cards and print will be remaining the black and white.
What I’ve been up to Mid December – Mid February
Graphic Design: Since my last update, the Queensberry Honey logo has now been implemented onto their awesome jars along with label design; the folks at Pukka print are busy getting the updated labels printed and hopefully I will have some updated photos soon. I was dropped off some sample jars this week, and must say they’re looking golden!
The graphic design I completed for J Bates Electrical Ltd, for his work van was printed & installed last year by the team at Pukka. For all your prompt and affordable Electrical requirements (New builds, Retro fit, Alterations, Appliance repairs, and more) Call or text JB on 027 5233532
Social Media Management: I’ve been busy working on clients’ social media accounts (content creation/administration); which saw me heading to All Loads Ltd to get some footage and photos of their recent rock wall progress – check more of that out at their Facebook or Website.
I went along to the Cromwell Car Show in January to check out some of New Zealand’s best classic cars and to get some photos of the corflute signs designed and printed for the lads at Rodz & Restos for their showcase of cars.
I’ve also updated my own website to include this service to other businesses/individuals – https://4amstudio.co.nz/digital-marketing.html – includes Online and Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, Content Creation, Paid & Organic Advertising, Strategy and Implementation.
404 Error Pages: You know what readers – and search engines – hate? When they try to find a page on your website and get a boring, generic 404 error page; that’s why I took the time to update my clients 404 error pages in January – here’s my own Wizard of Oz themed one.
If you need an update to your own website which can include custom illustrations specific to your brand, get in contact with me.
SSL/TLS Certificates: This week I’ve been renewing the SSL certificates on my clients’ websites. So, what is an SSL cert and what are the pros of having one?
An SSL certificate, when installed on a web server, activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.
An SSL Certificate can help build trust and keep visitors coming back to your site. Google prefers secure websites, meaning you’ll have an edge over the competition and boost your search rankings.
Starting from $55.00 (NZD) I can arrange and install an SSL certificate to your own website – contact email@example.com
Website Design & Launch: The lovely new website for Caring Cremations Ltd (Auckland) was launched late January 2019. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nikki and Scot to help with the branding of their family owned and operated animal cremation business since last year, with the website being one of the finishing touches. Good luck Nikki and Scot; thank you for all your support 💙.
Website reports: Each month I send my clients a report of how their website is doing, this includes impressions, search queries, and acquisition. I am thrilled to say that all websites have increased in traffic and visitors since the Christmas period.
Artwork: The Batty giveaway was a success and got a phone call yesterday to say that Batty (and extras) had arrived safely at his new home – congrats Nicki 😊 I also created two plush art bats for two of the coolest three-year olds that I know. I’ll be creating more over the next month which will be made available in the 4am Studio store. To become a stockist or make a wholesale inquiry, you can contact me here.
I’ve also been getting back into the shrink plastic artwork – featuring some classic cars and vehicles. You can check out the sped-up videos of the process over at my Facebook or Youtube pages. I’ve made these available also as stickers – you can pop on over to the shop and scope them out 😊
I’m now taking new clients for early 2019 so if you’re in need of ANY graphic design, print or website requirements, do get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org
By now you’ve probably finished your cup of coffee or tea, so until next month,
Alana & Günter
