Regional councils in New Zealand require recreational vessels to display registration numbers in line with maritime safety regulations. Your registration must:
- Be clearly shown on both sides of the craft above the waterline
- Not be obscured while the craft is in use
- Measure at least 90 mm in height
- Be readable from 50 metres away
- Be in a contrasting colour to your vessel
Complies with NZ Vessel ID rules
These decals meet the requirements under the 2025 NZ waterways bylaws. For most trailer‑borne recreational boats, the trailer registration number is used as the vessel ID and must be displayed on each side of the hull above the waterline.
Your decals arrive ready to apply, with transfer tape already attached. An online instructional is available for an easy, step-by-step application.
Optional revisions: Limited to one revision per order. A revision is to have a digital sample (proof) of the design sent to you prior to printing. Any additional revisions will incur a fee and is invoiced directly.

We cannot offer refunds, warranties or guarantees on adhesion, as this depends on surface quality, conditions during application and user handling rather than the vinyl itself. Vinyl lifespan varies depending on care, brand, type and exposure. These decals are not suitable for microwaves, dishwashers or high-heat environments.
