For when you just need a one-time fix or upgrade.

  • Depending on the scope, a technical audit may be required first to assess your current setup.

Terms and Conditions

*Includes requests for content updates, layout updates, new pages, API and script integrations, etc. Any work exceeding the allotted time available will be billed at our normal hourly rate.

Scope of Work: Care Plans cover updates, bug fixes, content edits, layout tweaks, and plugin/theme updates. Work beyond plan limits is billed at the hourly rate.

Response Times: I aim to respond to support requests during regular working hours. Times may vary depending on workload.

Older Sites: Websites older than 2 years or not originally built by 4am Studio may require a technical assessment before joining a Care Plan.

Exclusions: Hosting, domain renewals, copywriting, training, and detailed monthly reports are not included unless specified.

Billing: Plans are billed monthly or annually. Work exceeding the included support time will be invoiced separately.

Commitment: Monthly or annual options available. Annual commitment recommended for ongoing maintenance.

Limitations: E-commerce and membership sites require custom pricing or may not qualify for standard Care Plans.

Add-ons: Additional work (e.g., redesigns, SEO audits, new features) can be quoted separately.

FAQS

Why do I need to keep my website updated?

Keeping your site updated isn't just about new features - it's about security and performance. Outdated themes, plugins or frameworks can leave your website open to bugs and vulnerabilities. Regular updates also keep things running faster, smoother, and compatible with the latest tech.

My web host says they update my WordPress® version - isn't that enough?

Not quite. Some hosts will update WordPress® itself, but they won't touch your plugins or themes, which are just as important. These are made by different developers and constantly updated to stay secure and compatible. If they're ignored for too long, things can break.

That's where a care plan comes in - I monitor, update, and fix anything that goes sideways before it becomes a problem.

What's included in my monthly care plan time?

Your included support/development time can be used for things like:
Small content or graphic updates
Bug fixes and minor tweaks
Plugin or theme troubleshooting
Performance improvements
General questions or advice

If you need extra work beyond the included time, I'll quote it upfront or add it to your next invoice.

Do unused support hours roll over?

No - support time resets each month. Plans are designed to keep your site consistently maintained rather than letting tasks pile up.

What happens if something breaks after an update?

Sometimes updates clash or cause display issues. If that happens, I'll roll back to the last stable backup and troubleshoot from there. Fixes that take longer than your included support time will be quoted before continuing.

What's included in the reviews and checks?

I'll run through your site regularly to make sure everything's running as it should - no broken links, plugin errors, or performance issues. Premium Plan clients also get a quarterly consultation and performance review.

How often do you back up my site?

WordPress® sites are backed up monthly or weekly (depending on chosen plan). Squarespace® sites rely on their built-in backups, but I recommend exporting your site manually every few months as an extra safeguard.

What if you didn't build my site?

That's fine. I can still take it on, as long as it's a WordPress®, Squarespace® or static HTML/CSS site. For older or complex builds, I might suggest a technical audit first to make sure everything's working properly before jumping into a care plan.

Do your plans include hosting or domains?

No - your hosting and domain stay under your control (and that's how it should be). I'll happily help you set them up or migrate to a new provider if you need, but I don't resell hosting or domains.

Do your plans include email hosting?

No, I don't provide or manage email hosting. I recommend using Google® Workspace for reliable business email services.

Do you work with e-commerce websites?

Only in a limited capacity. Care plans are mainly for non-ecommerce sites, but I can quote separately if your online store needs light updates or support.

Do you include SEO?

I take care of basic on-page SEO - like meta tags, alt text, image optimisation and speed checks - as part of your care plan.

Anything beyond that such as SEO audits and recommendations can be provided as a separate service. Pricing is based on the size and complexity of the website, and will be quoted prior to commencement.
Audits may include:
Reviewing on-page structure, meta data and headings
Assessing page speed and technical performance
Checking for indexing issues, broken links or outdated plugins
Reviewing site hierarchy, navigation and accessibility
General keyword and content review

Implementation of SEO recommendations is not included in the audit fee and will be quoted separately

How do I get in touch if something goes wrong?

You can email me directly with your issue or request, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible during working hours. Response time depends on your plan, but most issues are reviewed within 1-2 business days.

How does payment work?

Care Plans are billed monthly or annually. One-off development work is invoiced after work is completed. Small site builds are quoted and invoiced before starting. Work starts once payment (or a deposit) is received.

Can I upgrade or cancel my plan?

Yep. You can upgrade at any time - just get in touch.

If you'd like to cancel, I'll need 30 days' notice before your next billing date. There are no refunds for partial months once a plan has started.

What if I just need something fixed once?

That's what my One-Off Developer Time option is for. It covers things like new features, bug fixes, redesign tweaks or performance issues. Depending on the scope, I might suggest a quick technical audit first to make sure I know what I'm working with.

What's included in your Small Website Build Package?

Domain and hosting setup (under your own control)
5-page site (WordPress®, Squarespace® or HTML/CSS)
Contact form
Mobile-friendly design
Basic on-page SEO
Google® Analytics & Search Console setup

Content (text and images) must be provided within two weeks of sign-up so things can move quickly.

WordPress® & Squarespace® subscriptions and premimum themes are an additional cost.

No e-commerce or complex functionality included, but maintenance can be added after launch.

Can you migrate my website?

Yes - if you're moving to a new host, I can migrate your site safely and make sure it's running smoothly on the new setup.

Do you offer training?

Not at this stage, but I'm working on a Website Manual/Guidebook to help small business owners manage their own sites (coming in 2026).
